    About Max Zhvanetsky

Max is a queer, Jewish, Russian/Ukrainian immigrant. He is white and cismale and has experience navigating between multiple cultures and identities. In his free time, he plays Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, hikes, and does yoga. He loves games as a way to establish connection with others and believes that play is vital to our health and wellbeing.

Max became a therapist in order to help others find shared humanity among our struggles for survival. Max is passionate about working with cycles of intergenerational trauma, especially severances that occur as a result of immigration. Navigating between multiple worlds can be a disorienting experience, and having trusted others who can see and affirm you for who you truly are is a deeply healing thing. Max has experience working with young adults, older adults, and people experiencing poverty and addiction. Max cares deeply about issues of family and identity, and approaches them with curiosity. He further specializes in trauma, burnout, mind-body connection, and internal narratives.

We often find ourselves burnt out, feeling isolated and traumatized by current and historical events. We feel the pressure to better this world but struggle with feelings of hopelessness and powerlessness. At times like these, it is vital to reclaim spaces of joy, safety, and connection within ourselves & the world around us. Max works with clients to reclaim their experiences of strength and wellbeing. Finding spaces to mobilize and play can help us with stuckness and finding fun again.
